Current Challenges

I've heard many times that a good way to get yourself to actually do something you should proclaim it. So here are my current challenges:

  1. Learn to drive. I've already gotten behind the wheel. Now I need my learner's permit
  2. Work with vocational rehabilitation to find a part-time job.
  3. Complete the classes from http://www.edx.org. I'm doing these to see if I can, indeed, finish my degree.
  4. Walk the 5K in May.
  5. Write a review of each book I've read.
These are my top five goals.
Well, here I go again starting a blog. This time, though, I'm doing this to showcase how I'm growing up as a mother. On October 31, 2013 I gave birth to a beautiful and amazing girl - Miriam. Everyone knows that having a child changes you and it changes your life. Miriam's arrival has challenged me to find my way in this world, to challenge myself. Being a mother goes beyond caring for your child's day to day needs. It means setting an example. I want my daughter to live a fearless, challenging life. In order to do that I need to take on challenges. I need to show my daughter that as long as you try, failure is ok. There will be some things you excel at, others you don't. You need to find those that you excel at.

My first few challenges include walking a 5K in May. I've signed up for two http://www.edux.org classes - one on writing, one justice. I'm also challenging myself to practice my writing.

Join my journey as I help myself to grow up, and hopefully set a good example for my daughter.
